Club Gaeilge

Club Gaeilge

Cuireann Ms. O’Leary Club Gaeilge ar siúl gach Dé Máirt, ag am lóin, 1.15-1.55, i seomra Ms. Fitzgerald. Bíonn cluichí éagsúla, ar nós scrabble, crosfhocail, biongó agus tráth na gceist ar siúl, chomh maith le comórtais, ealaíon, ceol agus turasanna scoile. Chuaigh an Club Gaeilge ar thuras go dtí Gaeltacht Chonamara anuraidh, chuig taispeántas drámaíochta na ndaltaí i gColáiste Cholmcille, Indreabhán. Bhain na daltaí sa Chlub Gaeilge an-taitneamh as na drámaí, agus as an gceol, amhránaíocht agus damhsa traidisiúnta a léirigh daltaí Choláiste Cholmcille dóibh. Rinne gach duine sa Chlub Gaeilge iarracht iontach chun an Ghaeilge atá acu a úsáid agus bhí neart craic agus spraoi acu léi!

Táthar ag súil leis go n-éireoidh linn an Club Gaeilge a fhorbairt tuilleadh i mbliana. Tá Coláiste Éinde, i gcomhair le Conradh na Gaeilge, ag glacadh páirte i scéim ghradaim. An Ghaelbhratach a thugann aitheantas do scoileanna a ghníomhann le húsáid na Gaeilge agus feasacht ar an teanga a chur chun cinn tríd an scoil ar fad, seachas í a bheith mar ábhar scoile amháin. Tá Conradh na Gaeilge i mbun na scéime píolótaí den Ghaelbhratach a eagrú mar dhlúthchuid d’imeachtaí Bhliain na Gaeilge 2013.

Labhair an Ghaeilge…is leatsa í! Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam!

Club Gaeilge

Irish teacher, Ms. O’Leary runs the Club Gaeilge in Coláiste Éinde. The Club Gaeilge is open every Tuesday at lunchtime, 1.15-1.55, in Ms. Fitzgerald’s room. There are all kinds of fun activities going on in the Club, e.g. Scrabble, crosswords, bingo, quizzes, competitions, art, music, plenty chat and trips to the Gaeltacht! Last year, the Club Gaeilge went on a trip to the Connemara Gaeltacht to attend a drama by the students of Coláiste Cholmcille, Indreabhán. The Club Gaeilge members really enjoyed the play, in particular the traditional music, singing and dancing that the students performed for them also. Everyone in the Club Gaeilge made a great effort to use whatever Irish they had and they had great fun with it!

We hope to build on the success of the Club Gaeilge this year, in collaboration with Conradh na Gaeilge, who have included Coláiste Éinde as one of the 26 schools around the country taking part in

An Ghaelbhratach initiative, as part of the Bliain na Gaeilge 2013 celebrations. An Ghaelbhratach is a whole school initiative to encourage and promote the use of Irish throughout the school, as opposed to it being confined to the classroom as just another school project.

Labhair an Ghaeilge…is leatsa í! Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam!
