Colaiste Einde Talent Show 2017

Coláiste Éinde celebrated some of the many talents of the students in our school recently with sell out performances in this year’s Coláiste Éinde Talent show. There were four overall prizewinning categories. It came as no surprise, what with her Nashville twang and cowboy boots, that Emma Post from 1st yr won the first prize in the junior cycle category with her rendition of the Dixie Chicks’ song “Long Time Gone”. Fola Olawoye in 3rd year wowed her fellow students with her sassy interpretation of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie”. The coveted first prize place in the senior cycle category went to the 4th year/TY band comprising of Joe Reichenbach, Nathan Holian, Jamie McDonald and Samuel Lydon-Glynn, with their very enthusiastic mash up of Oasis’ “She’s Electric” and Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ “Can’t Stop”, while second prize in the senior category went to the very impressive trio of Conor Killian, Darren Kilbane and Kevin McAndrew, who rounded the talent show off with their lively performance of “Sympathy for the Devil” by The Rolling Stones.

Well done to all 12 acts who competed in this year’s show. A big thank you also to our MC Tom Crumlish and to the TY students who helped so much acting as stage hands, selling tickets and arranging the seats for the three shows.

Coláiste Éinde has a long and proud tradition of supporting different charities and Coláiste Éinde’s Talent Show was delighted to support Galway Simon Community this year. The Talent Show raised €882 from ticket sales and all the proceeds will be going to Galway Simon Community.

Míle Buíochas!
