Dragon’s Den star launches School Bank

Entrepreneur Bobby Kerr, one of Ireland’s best known and successful businessmen, paid a visit to Coláiste Éinde recently to officially launch their school bank.

Mr. Kerr, chairman of coffee chain Insomnia, addressed over 160 students, capturing their imagination with stories from his exciting and varied life.  Kerr, of Dragons Den fame, also advised them on business and entrepreneurial matters, on which he has obvious expertise, given his career achievements thus far.

Transition year students have been particularly busy in recent months setting up their school bank with the kind assistance of Ms. Olivia Hamrock from Bank of Ireland and under the direction of Business Teacher Ms. Miriam Higgins.  In addition, students have established a mini-company ‘TremEndas Ltd.’ through which they are producing a yearbook entitled ‘The Endapendent’.  Mr. Kerr commended their hard work, creativity and innovation, offering advice and support in their endeavor before officially launching the school bank.
